A Portland-based home goods brand inspired by the love of travel and by artisans from around world.
Swiftlet Designs was born from the love of travel, and the act of bringing back items from faraway places that capture the fond memories of a long journey. By supporting, honoring, and ethically sourcing from local artisans across the world, Swiftlet aims to be a home goods and decor brand that produces thoughtful, unique, and memorable pieces that are built to last.
During the course of this project, I worked directly with the founders of Swiftlet to translate their creations, values, and message into a visual language that appeals to like-minded customers. Inspiration for the brand matched the store's products themselves, originating in a variety of places: the natural color and texture found in Malian mudcloth, the bold patterns and motifs of kilim rugs, and the ancient Anatolian hieroglyphs from the Aisia Minor region of Turkey. The primary mark, representing the brand's namesake in flight, evokes the thrill and spontaneity of travel.
